Peter Savage

Peter Savage Limited is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of access covers, gulley gratings and associated drainage products. The company has a vast range of products from traditional steel and iron covers and gully gratings, right through to bespoke special products, designed ‘in house’ on CAD and solid modelling software We were going through a management buy-out and it was a very testing time for us. We wanted to get it right from the start and contacted Probity HR for HR support. We don’t have our own personnel department are recognised our need for specialist support in this complex area of law.

We like the working relationship with Probity HR because we have been assigned a named consultant who works closely with us and has a good working knowledge of the company and its culture, which makes dealing with issues far easier.

Probity HR developed both contracts of employment for all staff and company policies for us. We then commissioned them to expand these into an Employee Handbook which we felt would help the company establish its own identity after the MBO.

We now feel we have a much better balance between the needs of the company and its employees with everyone benefiting from a fairer working environment.

Triton

Triton plc is the UK market leader in domestic showers, employing approximately 450 people in our purpose built premises in the Nuneaton area.

As you can imagine, employing 450 people means that keeping up to date with the constant changes in Employment legislation can be extremely time consuming, consequently we contracted with Probity HR Ltd for their Advice Helpline. It’s reassuring to know that there is always someone at the end of the telephone with an in-depth knowledge of employment law to provide specialist employee relations support and advice. This then allows our busy Personnel team to focus on other priorities and functions within the department.

For an organisation of its size, Triton has very few problems relating to Employment Law, and this is mainly due to the expert advice and support provided by Probity HR. We find them to be extremely well-prepared and knowledgeable, clearly explaining any related process, procedure and/or associated risks when issues arise. Whites Utilities

Whites Utilities are a labour intensive, utilities infrastructure provider, based in Coventry.

We were going through a TUPE transfer and contacted Probity HR for advice in relation to this. Due to our limited knowledge of TUPE, we were in a very weak negotiating position with regard to this new contract and were clearly out of our comfort zones. Coupled with this, the time constraints were demanding and it was important to not only, do the correct things for our company, but to also be seen by the client to do things knowledgeably and professionally. Probity HR clearly explained the process and the risks associated with such a venture and also became part of our negotiating team for the TUPE transfer process. We found them to be knowledgeable, well prepared and highly supportive - with their help the transfer went smoothly.

We had looked at other providers but found that the ‘hand-holding’ service offered by Probity HR much better suited our needs. In retrospect, there is no doubt in our minds that a bigger company could not have given us the level of personal attention needed without costly legal input. Their involvement made us realise the importance of robust contracts of employment, policies and processes and since then we have become regular users of their Advice Helpline. Their in-depth knowledge of employment law and practical, easy to understand advice ensures that we’re always on the right side of the law. We now have experts we need at a price we can afford and as a bonus, their sample documentation makes fulfilling our HR obligations completely straight forward with no need to employ a person dedicated to this role.

J B Malin Plant Services

JB Malin Plant Services service and repair heavy plant and machinery and are involved in steel fabrication in the Midlands area. We are a smaller employer who doesn’t employ a fulltime HR Manager. We had some potentially quite serious issues with an employee and turned to Probity HR for help. Their practical advice and support helped us through this very difficult issue. They facilitated a meeting which allowed for a meaningful dialogue between all parties involved and brought the matter to a swift, successful conclusion for both the company and the employee. We are now benefiting from having a more motivated employee whose productivity has significantly improved.

As a result of this successful intervention we contracted with Probity HR for their Advice Helpline. Pinnacle Care

Pinnacle Care operates and runs a number of residential Dementia Care Homes across Rugby and South Warwickshire.

We have used other providers in the past and were unhappy with the level of service we received so we took the decision to contract with Probity HR Ltd. We believe that their first class support has helped to protect us from the spurious claims so prevalent in today's compensation culture.

The availability of their Advice helpline, which we make extensive use of, makes their services excellent value for money. We always find their advice and information we're given to be straight-forward and practical - whether on the telephone or face to face - and they don't use complicated legislative language and vocabulary.

We have used their Representation Services to defend an employment tribunal claim made against us. Probity HR gave us no end of support and advice, properly steering the case in our favour such that the claimant withdrew their claim with no settlement payable.
