Current rates and limits at a glance

NMW RATES
Aged 21+ £5.93 per hour (£6.08 from 1st October 2011)
Aged 18-20 £4.92 per hour (£4.98 from 1st October 2011)
Aged 16-17 £3.64 per hour (£3.68 from 1st October 2011)
Apprenticeship Rate (for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over in their first year of apprenticeship)

£2.50 per hour (£2.60 from 1st October 2011)

Guaranteed Pay £22.20 per day (for 5 days in any 3 month period)
EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL LIMITS
A Week’s Pay £400 (£380 from 1st October 2009)

Basic Award

£12,000 (dependent on age and length of service)

Basic Award (Automatically Unfair) Minimum 4 weeks pay, maximum £12,000

£128.73 per week or 90% of normal weekly salary (whichever is higher) for 6 weeks

Statutory Maternity Pay (basic rate)

£128.73 per week or 90% of normal weekly salary (whichever is lower ) for 33 weeks

Maternity Allowance

£128.73 per week or 90% of normal weekly salary (whichever is lower)

Statutory Paternity Pay

£128.73 per week or 90% of normal weekly salary (whichever is lower )
